About Me

Thank you for considering me as your counselor.
I am a state licensed and nationally certified counselor offering mental health counseling to individual, families and groups. I have a Bachelors of Education from Northern Illinois University and a Masters of Education from Arizona State University, and I taught elementary and junior high school students for 18 years. After a highly successful career in education, I went back to school and earned a Masters of Counseling from Arizona State University.

Experienced in counseling individuals, couples, families and groups of all ages, I have a special affinity for working with early adolescents and teenagers. My previous career as an educator serves as the foundation for working with these clients and their families.

As a therapist who uses a client-centered approach, I believe my clients are experts in their own lives. I view my role as therapist as a facilitator who assists clients in discovering their own truths and gaining a deeper sense of themselves. I draw from several perspectives, including but not limited to mindfulness, humanistic, existential, and cognitive-behavioral. This eclectic approach allows me to meet my clients where they are and help them get where they want to be.
